If you’re not on social media much, you may not be filled in on the current beauty “trends”. I guess I will apologize in advance for getting you up to speed right here. While fuller bodies, large breasts and even larger butts were in for a while, as we revert back to 90s and early 2000s fashion, we are also reverting back to that heroin-chic look that did major damage to millennials (and our moms). Our new face trends are all thanks to the Ozempic shortage and the buccal fat pad removal. Let’s start with Ozempic. Ozempic can help people lose weight, as it’s for diabetics. It’s designed to make you feel less hungry. Many people with a lot of extra cash are buying the drug to get skinny fast, and a side effect of that is losing facial volume. What happens when you lose facial volume (especially as we get older)?, the loss of elasticity, and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles become more prominent because our face is less full. People are clearly unhappy about this side effect of their new “diet” and are turning to filler to make up for volume lost. In fact, a doctor went onto the Today Show to talk to the two hosts about this new found problem – both for the diabetics who are unable to get their medication, and the people who are experiencing “Ozempic Face”. She actually championed people get filler to make up for the volume lost in their face, and the two hosts (Hoda and Savannah) were shocked. It feels very irresponsible, not only because once you stop taking Ozempic, you’ll gain the weight back (so then you have regained facial weight along with filler), but filler never fully dissolves, and it can migrate. You will never actually get your own face back. Please read that again – you never actually get your face back once you start getting filler.

On to the next fad – the buccal fat pad removal. This one is even more wild – removing facial fat pads to give the cheeks a more chiseled look. This is being done by a lot of younger celebrities, but when you really sit down to think about what they’re doing – it’s utter insanity. As we age we naturally lose facial fat, leaving us with more hollow cheeks and you guessed it – prominent loss of elasticity and lines and wrinkles and the formation of jowls. This is such a prominent part of aging that Osmosis came up with an omega supplement to help refill facial pad loss as an alternative to filler called Recovery. I really want everyone to understand – your face is a sculpture. It is interesting. It is unique. It is special. It is you. As technology advances, these trends get more invasive and more insane, and causes body dysphoria. The average person cannot afford what a celebrity has done, yet celebrities set the standard and influence the rest of us – either by getting stuff done or by making us feel bad about ourselves. Even celebrities can’t always undo what they’ve had done regardless of the copious amounts of money they have, along with access to the best plastic surgeons on the planet. These are fads but your face is forever, and it’s not always easy to reverse choices you make. Botox atrophy’s muscle, filler can never fully be dissolved, and you’ll want those fat pads back some day, I promise.

injections are a slippery slope (as is any cosmetic alternation of the face) and can lead to “pillow face”, when you over-fill the face with filler your face can look bloated. It makes sense that the new trend of the buccal removal is in direct contrast to this

As I stated above, we naturally lose volume in our face as we age, and we desperately want it back. You can not go back and put buccal fat back into the face.

Recovery is an Omega Oil Supplement that naturally refills the fat pads in the face, by restoring critical nutrients to help reactivate fat cells and is the natural alternative to filler, giving the face back volume without looking puffy, and without injecting unnatural substances – that can never fully dissolve – into your face.
